Willingdon Drove will close to through traffic overnight on weeknights from Monday 7 September while East Sussex Highways resurfaces the road near Shinewater Roundabout.

Temporary lights before the closure

Temporary traffic lights are due to operate from 7pm to 6am on Wednesday 2 and Thursday 3 September. They will be on the A22 between Shinewater Roundabout and approximately 50 metres before the Sevenoaks Road junction while drainage work is carried out.

Overnight closure from 7 September

The resurfacing programme is scheduled from Monday 7 to Saturday 26 September, with work taking place from 8pm to 6am and no planned weekend working.

Willingdon Drove will be closed to through traffic between Shinewater Roundabout and approximately 50 metres north-east of the Larkspur Drive junction. The signed diversion will use the A22 Golden Jubilee Way, B2247 Dittons Road and B2104 Friday Street.

Access to properties within the works area will be limited and managed by the site team. There will be no through route, and drivers needing access may have to wait while the road is made safe. East Sussex Highways says affected bus services have been informed and will be diverted.

The schedule is subject to suitable weather, so residents and travellers should check the official East Sussex Highways scheme page before setting out.
