East Sussex County Council says the latest phase of Eastbourne’s town-centre improvement scheme is complete, in an announcement published on 7 October 2026.
What has changed
Terminus Road between Bankers’ Corner and Marks & Spencer has been pedestrianised. Bolton Road and Langney Road now have two-way traffic flow.
The council says the scheme improves the pedestrian connection between the station and seafront. Work included paving, trees, seating, cycle parking and lighting.
This update replaces the construction-stage access advice previously carried in this article. Completion does not mean the pedestrianised section has reopened to general traffic.
