NHS Surrey and Sussex has announced up to £7 million for primary care this winter, with more than 200,000 additional same-day GP appointments planned across the two counties.

The 5 October announcement says the extra capacity will focus on respiratory illness and other common seasonal conditions. The winter plan was agreed by the NHS board on 30 September.

This is a regional programme relevant to Eastbourne patients, not an announcement of 200,000 appointments in Eastbourne. The announcement gives no town-specific allocation or new local clinic address.
