Eastbourne’s planning committee unanimously refused two housing proposals on 13 October, according to minutes published on 2 November.
The council record says outline plans for two flats on land beside Reynolds Road, Langney Rise (260394), were rejected over harm to the area’s character and loss of open space used for recreation.
Four two-bedroom homes replacing 11 garages at West Cliff Mansion, St Johns Road (250515), were also refused, citing impacts on neighbouring residents’ light, outlook and amenity. Both refusals went against officers’ recommendations.
