Update, 11:49 BST on Wednesday 23 September: Brighton & Hove Buses’ earlier Eastbourne-bound coastal diversion notice is no longer listed on its live service-updates page or Coaster 12 route page. No explicit confirmation of normal service was found. Check the operator’s current journey information before travelling.
The operator’s earlier 09:29 bulletin reported an A259 South Coast Road incident affecting coastal services towards Eastbourne. It said stops between Rottingdean and Newhaven could not be served in that direction and directed passengers to Rottingdean White Horses or Newhaven Town Station.
That was the advice in the earlier bulletin, not a newly confirmed boarding instruction. The cause and outcome of the incident have not been established in the sources checked.
