Congratulations, Josh and Connor: celebrating Eastbourne MP’s wedding

From all of us at Eastbourne.info, congratulations to Josh Babarinde and his husband Connor. We wish you a lifetime of love, laughter and happiness together.

Here at Eastbourne.info, we think a great deal of Josh—not simply as our MP, but as a kind and caring person. The compassion he brings to his community deserves appreciation, and we are delighted to celebrate a happy moment for him and Connor. Our warmest wishes go to you both.

Eastbourne’s MP confirmed the marriage in a Liberal Democrat update published on 27 August. The couple married in a small family ceremony in Scotland, where Connor is from, before returning to Eastbourne for their wedding party.

In a fuller account shared on his official Facebook page, Josh described a celebration shaped by the town, its seafront and several local businesses. From a ride on the Dotto train to fish and chips and a ceilidh, there was plenty of Eastbourne in their special day.

A celebration rooted in Eastbourne

In Josh’s account, the couple and their guests travelled along the seafront on the Dotto train to the Italian Gardens at Holywell, which had been transformed for the occasion by friends and family.

Local bagpiper Trevor Box led the couple as they walked together down the aisle to “Highland Cathedral”. Their buttonholes, made by Flowers of Eastbourne in the Enterprise Shopping Centre, combined an English red rose with a Scottish thistle.

Connor’s mother also led a traditional Gaelic tying-of-the-knot ceremony. West African Ankara fabric representing Josh’s heritage was bound together with tartan representing Connor’s Scottish roots.

Eastbourne businesses helped make the day

The celebration featured fish and chips from Qualisea Fish Restaurant and an evening ceilidh at All Saints in Meads. Music was provided by DJ Simon K, while the wedding cake was made by former Eastbourne mayor Candy Vaughan. The newlyweds later rounded off the evening at the Dew Drop Inn.

With love and congratulations from Eastbourne.info

The couple announced their engagement last year. In his August update, Josh thanked those who had sent them messages and good wishes. We would like to add ours.

Public life is often discussed in terms of speeches, campaigns and political disagreements. But character matters too. What we value in Josh is his kindness, his compassion and the care he shows for people. To us, those qualities deserve a tribute of their own. Alongside our congratulations, we want to offer a simple thank you for the heart he brings to Eastbourne.

It is especially touching to see Josh and Connor make room for both their heritages, their families and their home town in their celebration. We hope they carry the warmth of that day with them through the years ahead.

Josh and Connor, congratulations from all of us at Eastbourne.info. Josh, you give so much care to others, and we hope this new chapter brings you that same kindness and warmth in return. May your life together be full of love, laughter, friendship and the everyday joy of having each other by your side. We wish you both every happiness.
