A Polegate man has been jailed for three years after admitting a series of burglaries across Eastbourne.
Sussex Police said Steven Stacey, 33, of Southfield, Polegate, pleaded guilty to six counts of burglary, one count of attempted burglary and possession of a class B drug. The offences took place between 17 March and 29 April 2026.
Three-year sentence
Stacey appeared at Lewes Crown Court on 10 August and was sentenced to three years in prison, according to the police force’s official court-result report.
Police said he was first arrested on 14 April in connection with two burglaries and an attempted burglary. He was charged and released on court bail, before being arrested again on 30 April and charged with four further burglaries and the drug offence.
Detective Sergeant Jake O’Reilly said burglary can have a lasting financial and emotional effect on victims and that Sussex Police would continue to investigate reports and pursue reasonable lines of enquiry.
